Grief Interruption

I made this picture in August 2025. It was a difficult summer as my brother was very ill. He would die only weeks later. I'd been home to see him.

I was staying with our parents in the house we grew up in and would make trips daily to see him at his home if he was well enough.

One fine evening after dinner my mother and I went for a walk. When I saw this scene just up the road from our house, I had to make a picture. She walked on ahead a wee bit. Not far as I only made a couple of exposures. Though I may have stood there marvelling at the scene for a moment. Allowing its quiet beauty and stillness to interrupt the grief I was already feeling for my younger brother, Niall.

Order a print if you'd like.

Thanks for your time.
