Onwards

My involvement in The Photobook Club Collective has been a revelation to me. I'm in amongst amazing practitioners of this crazy photographic life. I have learned copiously. Most of them publish in a more traditional manner by commercially printing their books. I make mine by hand. Which is a bit daft. But there is an audience for this. And I'm beginning to find regular support in it.

We recently showed our wares collectively at Proud Central here in London. Mixing prints and books. Some sold. It wasn't a huge success but it came about quickly and it was our first group showing. Much has been learned.

Next up is a group presence at Photo London. How about that? I'm amazed at being included in our first gathering there. I'll be showing Solivagants, which is a collaboration with my writer son, Eoin. This is a concept book maquette. I hope to have a few copies ready along with three A3 photographs with several copies of each available.

I am now ready to show my work widely in exhibitions. To talk about it. And teach the bookbinding techniques I have developed over the last several years. I have a YouTude tutorial almost ready to go. I'll make it available for free but there will be a tip jar for those who can afford to make a contribution to the time and material costs involved in developing the techniques.

I'm exploring local venues to present my Hinterland work as I'd like to show it to the community in which it was made.

I'm also thinking about my hometown in Ireland where I'd like to do a pop up show of work made there.

I have a brand ambassadorship with PermaJet I'd also like to expand on. And I'm considering a change of camera system to absolutely simplify my process and get to the bare essentials. To strip away the complexity of current tech which seems to form a barrier to the world I'm looking to photograph. More on this later.

Thanks for your time.
