Happenstance

I’m a happenstance photographer. I make pictures for myself, to satisfy my curiosity about the world unfolding in front of me. My Passerby series of handmade books is a way for me to catalogue the more interesting of these pictures. They are not in chronological order. They simply organise themselves. If an image doesn’t slot into sequence, it is left out. Each volume features work made since the previous. And that’s all there is to it.

Sometimes I make quiet pictures, such as this one. Three elements. Simple. Crystal Palace Park, south London, on a day I was walking very slowly with sore knee. © Paul Treacy 2026.

On occasion a photograph might emerge as worthy of framing as a stand alone piece. This is something I wish to develop in my business for potential collectors.

Exquisite A4 signed Premium Lustre prints are now available.
