First task of the day

The first thing I have to do every morning while I'm here in Ireland helping my parents, is walk their lovely black lab, Luna.

My favourite wild place is their local woods about a mile away. I spent a great deal of time here in Kelly's Woods growing up, mostly running dogs, but also exploring, building bridges over streams and bivouacking.

My mother is making steady progress adapting to her new hip and my father is returning to his usual sprightly nature after an exhausting period doing everything. This is his second stint as carer where Mum was briefly invalided, the first time was cancer some years ago.

With her current rate of recovery she'll be up and about without crutches in a few months.

I'll be returning to London, all going to plan, on January 27th and will resume bookmaking and print prep from the 28th.

Thanks for your time.
