Making time to make pictures
I have plenty of experience as a carer. But for children. Caring for parents is rather different. It's full on but it's easier to pace oneself. Kids are hectic and fast. Elderly parents are substantially gentler. And the moments between chores can be delightful. Watching sports together. Nature documentaries. Playing boardgames. Dining. Conversing on all manor of things. Mostly politics, of course.

I always make sure to keep an eye out for intriguing photographs. Sometimes I'll not have camera to hand while I'm busy with my chores but I'll make a mental note and get to it when I have time for myself.
Often it's when the rest of the household has gone to bed. Such as this top image of the sitting room door reflected in the floor to ceiling windows with the darkness of a foggy winter night beyond.

Or this view from the bedroom window of my youth and my current resting place while here in Ireland.

Of course any opportunity to make pictures of crows I'll grab. These creatures fascinate me photographically. Like flying shadows. They make great shapes. Their shenanigans are often tantalising to watch. Their acrobatic flying skills are mesmerising. Here they're just watching. Always watching, seems to me.
I'll be back in London realising book orders from January 28th.
Thanks for your time.
